Emma Beales

1850-1850

Emma Beales was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the daughter of William Hambleton and Sarah Beals (nee Carr) who were married in 1847.

Emma Beales died soon after she was born, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 17^th December 1850.

Emma’s family:

Emma’s father William Bales was baptised on the 30^th June 1816 in Barford Norfolk, the illegitimate son of Rose Bales. Rose also had two other illegitimate children baptised in Barford, Robert Bales was baptised on the 13^th May 1810 and Mary Bales was baptised on the 4^th November 1813. (In the 1841 census William Bales (20), an Agricultural Labourer was recorded living in Barford Norfolk with William Hambleton (70), Rose Bales (60) and a Maria Adams (6). In later records William uses both the surname Hambleton and Beales (various spellings) at various times.)

Emma’s mother Sarah was baptised on the 1^st October 1826 at St Nicolas Church Newbury, the daughter of Thomas (a Labourer) and Elizabeth Carr (nee Jones) who were married on the 10^th July 1825 at t Nicolas Church Newbury.

The 1851 census records William Beal (26) as an Agricultural Labourer living in Mayors Lane, Newbury with his wife Sarah (24).

In 1861 William Hambelton (38), a Sawyer, Sarah (35) and their daughter Elizabeth (9), were recorded living in Brindley Street, Paddington, Middlesex.

Sarah Hamilton Beales died aged 43 in 1870 (death registered in Kensington)

The 1871 census records William Hambelton (48) a Wood Sawyer, he was still living in Brindley Street, Paddington with his children Henry (9) and Eliza (6).
