Edward Eatwell

1881-1888

Edward was born in Newbury, Berkshire, the youngest son of Robert and Sarah Eatwell (nee Farmer) who were married in 1865 (marriage registered in Newbury).

He died aged 7 on the 5^th October 1888, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 8^th October.

His father Robert was baptised on the 26^th May 1839 in Aldbourne, Wiltshire, the son of Robert and Elizabeth Eatwell (nee Bowsher) who were married on the 11^th December 1823 in Ramsbury, Wiltshire. (Names recorded as Robert Eatall and Elizabeth Bozier). By 1861 Robert was living in Newbury working as a Chairmaker. He later worked as a Cabinet Maker, Upholsterer and Furniture Dealer.

Robert married Mary Ann Streat in 1862 (marriage registered in Newbury). They had two sons, William born in 1862 and Charles born in 1864.

Mary Ann died aged 31 soon after giving birth to her son Charles, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 6^th October 1864.

His mother Sarah was baptised on the 1^st December 1839 in Aldbourne, Wiltshire, the daughter of William and Rachel Farmer (nee Salt) who were married in 1838 (marriage registered in Newbury)

In 1871 and 1881 the family were recorded living in Cheap Street, Newbury. The 1891 census records them living in Market Street, Newbury.

Sarah died aged 60 on the 17^th March 1900, she was laid to rest with Edward on the 21^st March.

In 1901 Robert was recorded living in Newmarket Street, Newbury with his children, William John and Marian.

Robert died aged 64 on the 19^th December 1903, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 23^rd December.
