Eliza Boyles

Eliza Pain/Paice was born c1811 in Basingstoke Hampshire
She married James Boyles on the 25th December 1834 in Basingstoke.
They had the following two daughters, both born in Basingstoke:
Sarah born in 1844, (died in 1844) and Eliza born in 1846, baptised on the 1st April 1846 in Basingstoke Hampshire.
James was recorded as a Shoeing Journeyman in 1841, a Cordwainer in 1851 and a Journeyman Shoemaker in 1861.
In 1841 James (31) and Eliza (31) were living in Basingstoke.
By 1851 the couple were living in Garland’s Yard, Newbury with their daughter Eliza (5).
The 1861 census records James (51), Eliza (51) and their daughter Eliza (15), an Apprentice Dressmaker, living at 7 Waterloo Place, Newbury.
James died aged 54 in 1864, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 26th March.
In 1871 Eliza (60), a Shoe Binder, was recorded living at 8 Montague Place, Newbury, also recorded in the household was a visitor, Emily Strong aged 10. Eliza’s daughter Eliza (23) was recorded as a General Servant in the Newbury Workhouse.
Eliza died aged 67 on the 7th December 1877, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 10th December.
Her daughter Eliza (33) a House Servant was again recorded in the Newbury Workhouse in 1881.
By 1891 she was working as a Domestic Servant for a Mary Anne Ward, a Tobacconist, at 102 Bartholomew Street, Newbury.
The 1901 census also records her working as a General Servant for Mary Anne Ward in Bartholomew Street, Mary Anne Ward was now working as a Private Lodging House Keeper.
By 1911 Mary Anne Ward was living on Private Means, at Brightside, 48 York Road, Newbury and Eliza (64) a Domestic Servant was again recorded living with her.
Eliza died aged 68 on the 8th May 1915, she was laid to rest on the 11th May with her parents.
