Charlotte Charles Crabb was born on the 28th June 1819 in Beckington Somerset the daughter of Edmund and Charlotte Crabb (nee Charles) who were married on the 7th July 1817 at St John the Baptist, Frome, Somerset (Edmund was from the parish of Beckington, witnesses were Elizabeth Crabb and Jno Noad).

Her father Edmund was baptised on the 14th July 1793 at St George, Beckington, Somerset, the son of William and Mary Crabb (nee Lucas) who were married on the 26th June 1781 at St Lawrence, Rode, Somerset (William was from the parish of Tellisford)

Her mother Charlotte was the daughter of Edward and Alice Charles

Edmund and Charlotte also had the following two children:

Harriet Serena born Charles Crabb born 9th December 1821 in Trowbridge Wiltshire

Emma Louisa Crabb born 29th June 1827 in Trowbridge Wiltshire

Charlotte married George Howe in 1844 (George was baptised on the 9th August 1815 at Little Torrington Devon, the son of John and Maria How)

George and Charlotte had the following children:

The 1851 census records George (35) as a Baptist Minister of Ebenezer Chapel, living at North Row, Warminster with Charlotte (31) and their children John (5), George (3), Edward (2), Charlotte’s sister Harriet Crabb (29) and a House Servant, Sarah Penton (18).

The 1871 census records George (55) as the Baptist Minister of Broad Street Chapel, living in Tunchard Street, Ross, Herefordshire with Charlotte (51) and their children Mary (14), Sarah (8), Alice (6) and a General Servant, Elizabeth Fletcher (23).

In 1881 George (65) was recorded as a Baptist Minister, he was living in London Road, Park Villa, Speen, Berkshire with Charlotte (61) and their children John (35), a Shop Manager, Charlotte (29), a Governess, Private Teacher, Mary (24), Sarah (18), Alice (15) and a Domestic Servant, Elizabeth Hoare.

Charlotte died aged 61 on the 4th April 1881, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 9th April.

The 1891 census records George (75) as a Baptist Minister, living at 102 Burnt Ash Road, Lee, Lewisham with his daughters Charlotte (39), Sarah (28), Alice (26), all recorded as School Governesses, a General Servant, Charlotte North (24) and a boarder, Ethel Buttifant (9).

George died aged 83 on the 26th February 1899 in Lee, Lewisham, his body was brought to Newbury and he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery alongside his wife Charlotte on the 4th March.
