Thomas Charles Meacher's mother was Lilian Meacher, nee Callow.  She died when Tom was 7 and he was sent from London to Newbury and brought up by Dodge Callow, his uncle and Elizabeth Mary Callow, nee Aldridge.  Dodge possibly was the landlord of the Rising Sun.

Tom was presented with a bible in 1919-20 when he was 9 or 10.

He died of a burst ulcer on 14 Nov. 1936
