Mary Anne, her parents and siblings:

Mary Anne was baptised on the 18th April 1798 at St Mary Reading Berkshire, the daughter of William and Sophia Everett (nee Rouse) who married in Reading on the 13th December 1789.

 

Mary Anne’s father William was born c1764, he died aged 69 in 1833 and was laid to rest on the 20th November at St Mary Reading.

 

Her mother Sophia was born c1765, she died aged 82 in 1847 and was laid to rest on the12th August at St Mary Reading.

 

William and Sophia also had the following children baptised in Reading:

William 1791

George Augustus 1800

Edward Emanuel 1803

John 1807

 

Mary Anne later in life:

 

Mary Anne married James Haines on the 27th November 1820 in Speen, Berkshire (both were single).

(James was a Silk Weaver, he was baptised in 1800 in Speen the son of James and Ann Haynes. He died aged 44 in 1842 and was buried on the 6th February at St Mary the Virgin Speen).

 

Mary Anne and James had the following children:

Mary Anne baptised in 1823 in Speen

Elizabeth baptised 9th December 1827 in Speen

George baptised 14th Febraury 1830 in Speen

Eliza baptised 24th February 1833 in St Mary Reading

 

In 1841 Mary Ann (40) was recorded living in London Road, Speen with James (40), and their children Mary Ann (18), Elizabeth (13), Eliza (8) and George (11). (Surname recorded as Haner on ancestry)

 

In 1851 Mary Ann (53) and her children Eliza (18) a Weaver and George (16) a Labourer, were again recorded living in London Road, Speen.

 

The 1861 census records Mary (66) as a Silk Weaver, she was recorded living in Kennet Place, London Road, Speen. Also recorded in the household were her married daughter Eliza Herbert (24) and her son inlaw Charles Herbert (22). All three plus a grandson Charles Herbert (9) were again recorded living in Kennet Place in 1871.

 

 

Mary Ann died aged 78 on the 28th April 1880, she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 3rd May.
