Walter Curtis
1856-1859
Walter was born in Newbury Berkshire the son of Adam and Sarah Curtis (nee Danvers/Danvass) who were married on the 5th October 1834 at St Nicolas Church Newbury.
His father Adam was baptised on the 24th November 1813 at St Nicolas Church Newbury the son of Adam & Hannah Curtis (nee Moore) who were married in Thatcham on 21st November 1810.
His mother Sarah was born c1812 in Newbury the daughter of Samuel and Phoebe Danvers.

Walter died aged 2 in 1859 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 25th February.
The family lived in Mayor Lane Newbury and Adam worked as an Agricultural Labourer (1841), Corn Porter’s Labourer (1851) recorded as a Cripple, no occupation (1861) and a Glass Dealer (1871).
Walter’s father Adam died aged 67 on the 25th September 1879 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 27th September.
His mother Sarah worked as a Straw Dealer and continued to live at Mayor Lane until at least 1881. Later records show that she was admitted to the workhouse from the parish of Greenham where she died aged 77 on the 29th September 1888 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 2nd October.
