Mrs Harfitt's paternal grandfather Sidney Frank Jeffery rests in the cemetery.  He was the son of Reuben F. Jeffery, mayor of the town in 1933.

Sidney died in unusual circumstances from sunstroke when on an exercise with the fire service at the racecourse (it is believed). This may well have been recorded in the NWN. His sister lived at Wootton Hill.  There were tragic repercussions surrounding this but these are not known. They resided in York Road.
They were related to the Prestoe's and it is believed some of them are in the cemetery.
The Jeffery grave is in the far southern corner of the cemetery, and contains Sydney Frank, his wife and mother.
