When George Brimblecombe was born in 1821 in Throwleigh, Devon, his father, Richard, was 34 and his mother, Jane, was 29. He married Elizabeth in January 1845 in Okehampton, Devon. They had one child during their marriage. He died on 26 February 1867 in Newbury, Berkshire, at the age of 46.

The 1851 census shows him to be a Carpenter, the 1861 as a Journeyman Carpenter.
