She was born on 7 October 1835 in Fordingbridge, Hampshire, to James KPriey Day and Ann, nee Poore. She was baptised on 6 February 1836 in the local Independent Chapel, Her father died in 1838 and by 1841 she is living in Salisbury Street with her widowed mother  an
sister Augusta Louisa. By 1851, aged 15, she is helping her elder sister who has set up as a Dressmaker n the High Street. By the time of the 1861 Census she had moved to Nailsea, Somerset, and in 1865 she married James Gould in Bath. He too was born into a Non-Conformist family and eventually he became a Coal Merchant and a Farmer of 32 acres employing 5 boys in Uphill, Somerset. They had 3 daughters: Sarah Louisa born in 1866; Caroline Agnes born in 1868 and Annie born in 1871.
Her husband died in December 1893 aged 83 years in Uphill, Weston-super-Mare. In 1897 her daughter Annie married James Edward Deacon, a Grocer trading at 55 Northbrook Street, Newbury. Little is known of Anna Gould's whereabouts after her husband died but she died in Newbury on 25 February 1900; she must have moved to Newbury to be near her youngest daughter and family. She was buried on 2 March 1900.
