He was the husband of Kate ann, nee Smith

There is a reference to him as a gymnast at Newbury Gymnasium in the NWN 29 may 1869    and also a long article in NWN 29 july 1869 where he took the mayor aldermen and burgesses of Newbury to court for recovery of 30s of imposed fines
