Thomas Carr

c1806-1890

Thomas was born in Newbury he married Elizabeth Jones (born c1806 in Newbury) on the 10^th July 1825 at St Nicolas Church Newbury (both were single).

Thomas was recorded as a Sawyer in the 1841, 1851 1861 and 1871 census records, in the 1881 census he was recorded as a Woodman. The family lived at Quaker’s Burial Ground, Mayor’s Lane, Newbury from 1841-1881 although Thomas was away from home in 1871 he was recorded lodging at the College Arms, Pamber End, Hampshire.

Thomas died aged 84 on the 5^th March 1890 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road  Cemetery on the 10^th March.

Elizabeth died aged 85 a couple of months later she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20^th May 1890.
