Albana was born in Newbury the daughter of James and Caroline Swait (nee Cook) who married on the 9th May 1843 in Speen. James was bornc1813 in Speen and was a Cattle Dealer. Caroline was born c1813 in Aldbourne Wiltshire.

Albana’s siblings were:

William James 1844 (died aged 62 in 1905 buried in the NRC on the 27th October, surname spelt Swaite)

Edmund John 1846 (aka Edwin) (died aged 46 in 1892 buried in the NRC on the 24th June, surname spelt Swaite)

Caroline Louisa 1847 (died aged 0 in 1848 in Newbury)

Albert 1849 (died aged 0 1850 in Newbury)

Albana died aged 0 in 1850 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 28th October

Her father died aged 38 the following year in Newbury he was buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the on the 8th January 1851

Her mother was recorded living in Eyles Building in 1851, Trafalgar Place in 1861 and 1871 and Waterloo Place Newbury in 1881. In 1861 she was recorded as a Seamstress and in 1871, a Charwoman.

She died aged 67 in 1881 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 25th May
