Annie Abraham

1857-1930

 

Ann (aka Annie) Jacobs was born in 1857 in East Woodhay Hampshire the daughter of John and Rebecca Jacobs (nee Prout) who were married earlier that year. John was born c1837 in East Woodhay Hampshire and Rebecca was born c1832 in Kingsclere Hampshire.

Annie’s siblings were:

In 1861 Ann was living with her parents and siblings in Heath End East Woodhay her father was working as an Agricultural Labourer. In 1871 Ann was not recorded in the household with her parents and siblings and doesn’t seem to be recorded in this census anywhere else.

The 1881 census records Annie (23) working as a Domestic Servant in the household of Richard Aspinal (64), a Merchant, at Adelaide Road Hut Kingston upon Thames Surrey.

Annie married Charles Wing

Charles and Annie had a daughter Annie Violet born in Kingston Surrey in 1884. Annie’s husband Charles died aged 38 in Kingston in 1891.

The 1891 census records both Annie (33) and her daughter as visitors at her married sister Ellen Jones home at Station House Compton Berkshire.

 In 1901 Annie (43) was working as a Domestic Cook in the household of John C Forster (a Retired Wine Shipper) at Clatford Mills Upper Clatford Andover Hampshire.

Annie married George Abraham (a widower) in 1901 (marriage registered in Kingsclere). In the1911 census they were recorded living in Kintbury, George was recorded as a Baker and Grocer (Employer).

George died aged 66 on the 26th October 1925 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road cemetery on the 29th October.

Annie died aged 73 on the 22nd July 1930 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 24th July.
