George he was born in Enborne Berkshire he was baptised on the 28th August 1814 in Enborne the son of John and Elizabeth Smith.
George married twice.

(Sarah was baptised as Sarah Hepburn on the 25th August 1822 in Kintbury the daughter of George and Caroline. George Hepburn married Caroline Cully in Kintbury in 1812. The family surname has been recorded as Hepburn /Hepburne/Ebborn/Ebern/Eborn and Ebourn)
George and Sarah had at least three children:
William born 1843 birth registered in Hungerford, MMN Hepburn
Caroline born c1846 birth registered in Hungerford, MMN Hepburn
Elizabeth born 1847 birth registered in Kingsclere, MMN Eburn
In 1851 George (36), Sarah (30) and their children, William (7), Caroline (5) and Elizabeth (3), were living in East Woodhay Hampshire.
Sarah died aged 29 in 1852 (death recorded in Kingsclere in the March quarter).
George remarried in 1852, his 2nd wife was Ann Lancely (marriage registered in Andover in the December quarter, Ann’s surname recorded as Lanceley).
(Ann was born c1826 in Tangley Hampshire the daughter of Thomas and Maria Lancely (nee Miller) who were married on the 27th December 1820 in Vernham Dean Hampshire)

George was recorded as a Shepherd in the 1851, 1861, 1871 and 1881 census records.
In 1861 George (45), Ann (34), Caroline (16), George (6), Ann (4), John (2) and Lucy (8 months), were living at Hornes Farm Vernham Dean Hampshire.
By 1871 the family had moved to Newbury. They were recorded living in Hazell’s Yard when the census for this year was taken. By 1881 they were living at 6 Ashton Court Newbury.
The 1891 census records George (78) and Ann (66) living in Bartholomew’s Almshouses Newbury.
Ann died aged 68 in 1894 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 30th March
The 1901 census records George (89), as a widower living alone at 5 St Bartholomew’s Almshouses.
George died aged 94 on the 14th February 1904 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 19th February.
