Edward Draper
c1835-1869
Edward was born c 1835 in Gainsborough Lincolnshire he was baptised on the 28th February 1835 at All Saints Gainsborough and was the illegitimate son of Mary Draper. Edward married Sarah Bristow in 1859.

Edward and Sarah had the following children:

After they were married they moved to Heckington Lincolnshire (The Railway Hotel South Street). Edward worked as a Licenced Victualler & Merchant. By 1863 the family had moved to Reading Berkshire and by 1869 they were living in Newbury.
Edward died aged 34 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 11th November 1869.
After her husband’s death Sarah worked as a Goods Agent for G W R, she was recorded living in Newbury, St Mary’s Hill (1871), Cheap Street (1881) and Lincoln House Queens Road (1891 and 1901).
Sarah died aged 77 on the 5th September 1907 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 10th September.
Three of Edward and Sarah’s children were also buried in the Newtown Road Cemetery, their son Fred Herbert died aged 4 in 1869 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 9th October. Their daughter Florence died aged 1 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 2nd June 1870 and their son Arthur died aged 9 in 1877 he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 27th March www.fnrcnewbury.org.uk/persondetails.asp?PersonID=2662
