DEATH OF MR. JAMES FABRY

 

NEWBURY TRADESMAN FOR 36 YEARS

 

          The death occurred on Sunday of Mr. James Fabry of “Rose Marie,” Burghclere, at the age of 60. He had been in failing health for the past twelve months suffering from a painful illness.

 

          The eldest son of the late Mr. Walter Fabry, of the Market Place, Mr. Fabry was in business in Cheap-street, Newbury, for 36 years as a fruiterer and greengrocer, and was a well known and respected tradesman. He retired nine years ago to live at Burghclere. He leaves a widow and one son.

 

          The funeral took place yesterday (Wednesday), a service at St John's Church, Newbury, being conducted by R.S. Medlicott, rector of Burghclere. The interment was in the Newtown-road Cemetery. The mourners were the Widow, Mr. James H. Fabry (son), Mrs. Mendham, Mrs. Barker (sisters), Mr. Mick Fabry (brother), Mrs. Tucker, Reading (aunt), Mrs Walter Fabry (sister-in-law), Mr. Basil Fabry (nephew).

 

          Among those present were Mr. S.W. Brindley, Mrs. G. Day, Mr. A.G. Cox, Mr. T.J. Randall, Mr. Norman Smith, Mr. C. Mason, Mr. A. Hall, Mr. F. Parsons,  Mr. W. Fry, Mr. W. Smith, Mr. W.J. Smith, Mr. W. Rose, Mr. A. Rose, Mr. F. Hayward, Mrs.  J. Green, Mr. E.W.Liddiard. Mrs. A. Goddard, Mr. F.W. Richards.

 

          Wreaths were sent by: Wife and son; Sister Nell and George; Mick, Annie and daughter; Sister Edie and family; Flo, Wally and Basil; Aunt Annie, Reading; Dill and Charlie; his Old Friend at “Swan”; Harry, brother-in-law, Birmingham; Mrs. T. Randall & sons; Mr. and Mrs. Day; Edie, Stan and Nora; Mr. and Mrs. J. G. Brindley and son; Mary and Jack; Mr. and Mrs. E.C. Wheeler and family; Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Brindley, Greenham; Miss Cox, Newtown; Mr and Mrs. Pavier. Two wreaths were sent without inscription.
