Frederick John Isles

He was born in 1907 (1Q), the first son of Lawrence Bernard and Catherine (Marshall) Isles.  His parents married in 1905 in Newbury.

He grew up at Falkland Villa, Andover Road, with his siblings Catherine Mary (b. 1909, sadly died in 1911); Dorothy Elsie (b. 1910 4Q); Reginald Bernard (b. 1912 2Q) and Henry C. (b. 1914 4Q).

On Saturday 22 April 1916, whilst on errands for his mother, he stopped to play at West Mills with a friend.  Somehow, after his friend left him, he fell into the mill race and drowned.  He was found a few days later during Easter Week and the inquest was conducted on 3 May 1916.  He was laid to rest on 6 May.
