Emily Isles

She was born in Tangley, Hampshire, in 1861 (3Q).  Wise was her mother’s maiden name.

From the 1871 census,  Emily, aged 9, is living with her grandparents, James and Hannah Wise, at Dowlingspitts, Tangley.  Her grandfather is a carpenter, aged 67 years, born in the parish.  Another family member is staying with the grandparents – grandson Frederick, aged 18, born in Middlesex, his occupation agricultural labourer.

Research has not been able to establish when and where she met and married Frederick Isles.  For further biographical information, refer to the record of Frederick Isles.

She died in December 1916, aged 56 years, at 55 York Road, the home of her son, Lawrence  Bernard.  She was buried on 3 January 1917.
