Sarah Dilley

c1796-1888

 

Sarah was born in Oxfordshire c1796 she was baptised on the 6th March 1796 in Benson Oxfordshire and was the daughter of Thomas and Elizabeth House (nee Bullock) who were married on the 7th July 1776 in Sutton Courtenay Berkshire.

Thomas and Elizabeth also had the following children:

John baptised 22/6/1777 Sutton Courtenay Berkshire

Thomas baptised 18/7/1784 Benson Oxfordshire

John baptised 1/9/1789 Benson Oxfordshire

Martha baptised 9/1/1790 Benson Oxfordshire

Hannah baptised 27/4/1793 Benson Oxfordshire

 

Sarah married William Dilley (born c1794 Baldock Hertfordshire) on the 6th March 1826 at St James Westminster Piccadilly.

In the 1841, 1851 and 1861 census William and Sarah were recorded living at the White House Inn Biggleswade Bedfordshire, William was recorded as an Innkeeper/Publican.

By 1881 Sarah was a widow.  She was recorded living at Railway Terrace Newbury with her nephew William House and his family in the 1881 census.

She died aged 92 on the 30th January 1888 and was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the3rd February.
