Jane Cook

c1801-1888

 

Jane was baptised on the 8th December 1801 at St Peter and St Paul Marlborough Wiltshire she was the daughter of Thomas and Hannah Cook (nee Cook) who were married on the 22nd April 1799 in Overton Wiltshire.

Thomas and Hannah also had the following children:

Alice born 22/6/1800 baptised 5/1/1801 Marlborough

Michael baptised 15/8/1805 Marlborough

In both the 1851 and 1861 census Jane was recorded as a Milliner and Dressmaker living in Northbrook Street Newbury.

In 1871 she was recorded as a relative visiting James and Caroline Tubb at 1 Mount Villa Newbury.

In the 1881 census Jane was recorded as a Pauper in the Newbury Workhouse.

Jane died aged 86 on the15th March 1888 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20th March.
