The funeral of the late Mrs. Selina Annie Ducket Duckett, wife of Mr. George Duckett, of 64 Roseberry Avenue, Manor Park, London, and daughter of the late Mr Joseph Tarrant, Timber merchant of Newbury, took place at the Old Cemetery on Monday of last week. The remains were brought from London to Newbury by rail.

The  chief mourners were the bereaved husband, four daughters, Maud, Mabel, Hilda and Olive, two sons, Miss K. Tarrant (sister), Mr. A. Tarrant (brother), Mabel and Selina (nieces), Mrs. J. Tarrant, Mr. and Mrs. E. Duckett and family, of Bartholomew Street. Many wreaths were sent by members of the family, relatives and friends.

The health of the deceased was impaired by the loss of two sons in the war, and she never seemed to rally from the shock. A third son has just finished mine sweeping, and the eldest daughter has served two years in the W.A.A.C.'s.

Mr. Duckett is an old Newburian and moved to London shortly after the termination of his apprenticeship at the office of “Newbury Weekly News”.
