Thomas Fennell

c1805-1861

Thomas was born in Reading Berkshire. He married Elizabeth Deeming (born c1805 in Warwickshire) on the 2^nd August 1827 at St Marylebone Westminster Middlesex.

Thomas and Elizabeth had the following children:

Susannah c1831 (died aged 1 in 1832)

Thomas c1835 (died aged 5 in 1840)

Ann 1837

William c1840 (died aged 3 in 1844)

Jane 1841

Kate c1845

In 1841 the family were living in Kings Road, St Lawrence Reading and Thomas was working as a Waiter.

The 1851 census records the family living at Upper Hosier Street Reading, Thomas was recorded as a Grocer. By 1861 they were living in Newbury. The 1861 census records Thomas as an Innkeeper at 22 Jack of Newbury Street, (Commercial Inn Hotel).

Thomas died aged 56 on the 4^th December 1861 he was laid to rest in a private grave in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 9^th December.

In 1871 Elizabeth and her daughter Kate were still at the Hotel in Jack of Newbury Street
