Thomas Fennell

c1805-1861

Thomas was born in Reading Berkshire. He married Elizabeth Deeming (born c1805 in Warwickshire) on the 2nd August 1827 at St Marylebone Westminster Middlesex.

Thomas and Elizabeth had the following children:

Ellen c1827

Elizabeth c1830

Susannah c1831 (died aged 1 in 1832)

Emma c1834

Thomas c1835 (died aged 5 in 1840)

Ann 1837

William c1840 (died aged 3 in 1844)

Jane 1841

Kate c1845

In 1841 the family were living in Kings Road, St Lawrence Reading and Thomas was working as a Waiter.

The 1851 census records the family living at Upper Hosier Street Reading, Thomas was recorded as a Grocer. By 1861 they were living in Newbury. The 1861 census records Thomas as an Innkeeper at 22 Jack of Newbury Street, (Commercial Inn Hotel).

Thomas died aged 56 on the 4th December 1861 he was laid to rest in a private grave in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 9th December.

In 1871 Elizabeth and her daughter Kate were still at the Hotel in Jack of Newbury Street
