Mary Ann Curtis was born in Newbury she was the daughter of Adam and Sarah Curtis (nee Danvers) who were married on the 5th October 1834 at St Nicolas Church Newbury.  Adam was born c1813 in Newbury and Sarah was born c1812 in Newbury.
Adam and Sarah also had the following children:
Amelia c 1834
Elizabeth c1835
George c1837
Emma Maria 1841 (died aged 1 in 1842)
Charlotte 1843
Victoria 1845 (died aged 2 in 1848)
Richard James 1847
Frederick 1850
Edwin c1852 (died aged 1 in 1853 buried in the NRC on the 27th July)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  
Walter 1856 (died aged 3 in 1859)
Mary Ann married (as Marianne) John Pike in Newbury in 1859. John was born c1835 in Chieveley Berkshire and was a Labourer.
In 1861 John and Mary were living in Shaw Road Newbury.
Their 1st child John was born in 1862 but sadly he only survived for 1 day, he was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20th September. 
Their 2nd child Mary Ann was born the following year. Both mother and daughter died soon after the birth, Mary Ann was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 15th August 1863, her daughter Mary Ann was laid to rest 10 day later.
Her husband John died 3 months later, he was laid to rest on the 12th November 1863 at St Mary the Virgin Chieveley .
