Alfred Thorn (1856-1934)

Third son of Augustin and Mary nee White Thorn.

Brothers William, Thomas and George.

On 1861 census family living at Drummer, Newbury (Drummer Arms Hotel)

On 1871 census, aged 14yrs., is with the family living at Westfields as they are on 1881 census, Alfred now a labourer.

On 1891 census they are living on Gloucester Road and he is a bricklayer’s   labourer. He is still a bricklayer’s labourer on 1901 census but is living with his sister Kate and husband Walter bailey and nephew Albert  at 4 Blenheim Road, Carlisle Terrace.

He died in 1934 at 8 Raymonds Almshouses. A Salvation Army Adjutant officiated at the burial.
