MARY ANN WAINWRIGHT

THE LATE MRS. WAINWRIGHT

Our obituary column today contains an announcement of the death of Mrs. Wainwright who was widely known for her efforts in the Temperance cause, a sick visitor, instructor of the young, and a zealous christian worker.

She was an active member of the Women’s Christian Temperance Association and a missionary collector for 30 years, having collected in that period over £200.  Her utter disregard for self when she could be of service to others will invest her memory with much veneration; as the numerous inquiries and testimonies already received bear evidence.

Her funeral will take place on Friday (to-morrow) at the Cemetery, being proceeded by a service at 3.30 in the Primitive Methodist Church, of which she had many years been a member.  The funeral sermon will be preached on the following Sunday evening.
