Jane Cook

c1801-1888

Jane was baptised on the 8^th December 1801 at St Peter and St Paul Marlborough Wiltshire she was the daughter of Thomas and Hannah Cook (nee Cook) who were married on the 22^nd April 1799 in Overton Wiltshire.

Thomas and Hannah also had the following children:

Alice born 22/6/1800 baptised 5/1/1801 Marlborough

Michael baptised 15/8/1805 Marlborough

In both the 1851 and 1861 census Jane was recorded as a Milliner and Dressmaker living in Northbrook Street Newbury.

In 1871 she was recorded as a relative visiting James and Caroline Tubb at 1 Mount Villa Newbury.

In the 1881 census Jane was recorded as a Pauper in the Newbury Workhouse.

Jane died aged 86 on the15th March 1888 she was laid to rest in the Newtown Road Cemetery on the 20^th March.
